First notes on Deposit insurance in a world in Transformation

Worldwide transformations are strongly affecting the banking and financial sector, in particular with regard to Deposit insurance, in light of the new challenges of Internet banking and the digital collection of savings through platforms. It is not only the digital methods of providing banking services that are under discussion: the scenario has changed profoundly also for the globalization of financial markets. Recently, the European Commission decided to promote the Savings and Investment Union. It is therefore important to dwell on the implications of this Union on the regulation of depositor protection.
